This week I'd like to share this poem inspired by work of Melanie Hess, a poet I met in the Instagram poetry community. I often experience synchronicity with other poets and artist I follow there. Her poem felt so familiar to me, so I just had to respond to it.
You can find the wonderful original poem in her first poetry collection Bread and Bone. Melanie's collection was published in last month, and it is well worth your attention!
You can find both the ebook and paperback version on Amazon.
Please note that I endorse books entirely on my own accord and because I think they deserve your attention. I’m not an Amazon affiliate and I don’t get compensation for any of the recommendation I make.
Extraordinary, Conny. I am there in every possible sense. And “squinting through mizzle” is going to stick with me! You and Melanie are absolutely kindred spirits in your approach; I will definitely check out her book.
Oh this one resonates strongly. Thanks for sharing and the authors details.
